I have a 3 year old set of the same. About 1/3 volume will fill my vaulted ceiling living/dining area perfectly! Anything more and it can be heard through out the home.

Looked this morning... I actually have a set Z313 only headphone/speaker jack. No rear facing speaker 25w. The sound is good!

I feel the frequency range of any speaker system you can buy today is going to be outside of our hearing range at each end!

When it comes to speakers, watts means nothing without additional information. And frequency range means nothing either.

The power handling capability of a speaker depends on its sensitivity, impedance, the frequency, the amount of distortion it is being fed, and the amount of distortion it produces.

The stated frequency range information is useless without knowing the distortion levels and the deviance in the frequency and sound pressure levels across its output.

    For example, I will take a set of speakers rated at 50W, 50Hz to 16KHz ±2dB @ .3% THD over a set of speakers rated 100W 20Hz to 20KHz ± 7dB @ 3%THD any day of the week.

Loudness is NOT in any way a characteristic of quality.

Consider just the front right speaker in a "budget" home theater system could easily cost $200. That does not include the left speaker, the sub-woofer, or any of the electronics (pre-amps and amplifier or A/V receiver) to power it.

So do not expect anything close to "quality" from a speaker system that costs under $50 for the left, right and sub, and all the electronics to drive them.

For listening to the news, or a funny video or even a youtuble video 50$ desktop/laptop speaker sets have done me well. When I want better sound I'm usually on my 100 watt Technics 7-pc Rack system.

I do have friends that won't have less than their 20K$ apiece studio speakers, but to each his own.

I've seen these expensive speakers used to listen to AC/DC 'Back in Black'.
    Sheesh!
