I searched for a alternative to this program as it gave false voltage readings. I have solved the voltage issue but is here another program you like that tells what is in your PC as Speccy does but is more accurate?
At times I need to refer to stats on to board, or GPU and some readings.
Although Belarc advisor ddoes not always have the latest Windows updates would you consider it a good program?
I am not looking for specific information at this pont, just general knowledge of what is in the machine.
    TY

I use HWiNFO(64) sensors only, MA put together a Walkthrough for it recently.

The built-in MSInfo32 will give you a lot of additional info, including what's currently installed, drivers and modules running, errors logged, etc.

Thanks a lot, satrow. That is what I was looking for. Dell says, in its forum, that it is working on including this information in the bios but it is not yet available.
It also said it is not ready to work with 3rd party programs regarding voltage etc.
I tried it with my Dell and the numbers wee crazy affirming what they said about 3rd party testing. The numbers indicate my machine could not even run but it is fine.
No more Dells for me. I feel they are much too mavericky.
However, this is better than Speccy .

    I second HWiNFO(64) . . . very useful software.

JetClean in the Tools Tab gives out a lot of information similar to what Speccy gives ... actually more than what Speccy gives.

I AM perplexed and disappointed though that JetClean hasn't updated in ages.

    HWiNFO(64) proved to be informative.

I noticed that there was a PortableApps.com version, so I went and downloaded it to take it out for a spin. I got only as far as the Settings before I quickly realized ... Wooooooo! I was in over my head. Just in the Settings alone there was more info than in all of the control panels on the bridge of the Star Trek U.S.S. Enterprise. --- :D

I uninstalled it from my Flash Drive. I just felt uneasy that if something went wrong beyond the point of even a System Restore Point being able to get me back to normal, I'd be up a creek since I don't have the Windows XP System Recovery CD.

Chim, what portable software were you referring to?

HWiNFO, MSInfo32 and Speccy only read/monitor data, don't think there's a way with any of them to do any damage...

    I'm referring to that HWiNFO.
I AM familiar with Speccy and JetClean checking and displaying a system's information.

However, for my knowledge of things, the Settings on that HWiNFO seemed a bit intimidating.
So ... would you say that in the default Settings, HWiNFO cannot do any damage?
How about in ANY other configuration of its Settings?
Is it totally SAFE in that regard to where at worst ... I only get information that I cannot understand ... but no FUBARing of my computer happens?

HWiNFO only reads the hardware sensors and Windows information, it can't, and isn't designed to, make any changes to hardware/Windows settings. Watch/listen to MA's walkthrough a couple of times while you have it open.

If you don't need/like it, don't use it, uninstall it.

Okay, I reinstalled it in my PortableApps.com platform and gave it a try. No damage. :) I even tried the Benchmark test. Alright, so I'll leave it in my tools arsenal.

    Thanks, satrow.

I'm still a user of AIDA64 but thats a paid app, the forerunner was EVEREST that was free but no vastly out of date but will still give you some info. The only issue with any of these apps is that they may not read the sensors data correctly, even the BIOS doesnt always read the data correctly at times, its more a guide for temp and voltage. Speccy is fine not a lot of data but fine.

SIV is ok http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/siv_(system_information_viewer).html not laid out great but the data is comprehensive
