I was looking through a cd storage case in my garage and found the cd to this software and hed never seen it before.

My fear is that it was secretly installed on my computer and I cant find any file for it anywhere. No good stuff on google either. Because you've helped me in the past, I'm going to humbly ask for your help again guys.

How can I tell if this is installed on my computer and if it indeed is installed, what do I have to do manually remove it?

    Thanks in advance.

If a search brings up nothing, check registry locations for the program.

These registry locations can be found Here along with uninstalling a program manually.

To check the registry click on 'Start' >> 'Run'.

In 'Run' type "regedit" without the quotes and click OK.

If certain options were used during its installation, and etc., Spector Pro 6 has the capacity of not being able to be detected on your system, no matter how or where you look. I know that's not what you wanted to hear. I have the program and that's the main reason I use it -- because it's completely invisible. One thing you could try is pressing random key combinations (CTRL+ALT+S, etc.), however Spector Pro gives the option of using any or all of the SHIFT, ALT, CTRL, and WINDOWS keys along with another key... so there's a ton of possible key combinations as well. If a key combination you try prompts a password dialog box to open, then it's probably on your computer. Good luck.

Spector 6 is the latest build of this spy keylogger.
If you found it in your storage area, then it couldn't have been there long.

It is intended to be used by parents or employers who are concerned about what their children or employees are doing on the computer.

There is a detector and removal tool that is talked about in this blog:

I have never used either Spector or this removal tool and can not vouch for either. I offer this for information only.
