speeded up audio

my computer started playing all audio speeded up,music already in the computer and music videos .....thanks...... gary

 

A bit more info would be nice, like what version of Windows you're running, which media player(s) you are using, things you've already tried, etc. If you play a video file, does the video play fast also to match the audio? Or just the audio plays fast and the video plays normal? Have you tried playing an audio CD or a DVD movie?
Anyway- there's a few things you can try: uninstall any codecs you have installed. If you haven't installed any codecs, maybe that is the problem. Try the KLite Codec Tweak Tool to see if you have any broken codecs; it will give you the option to remove them. Then download and install a good codec pack. I like the KLite Mega Pack 'cuz it's very complete and it includes Media Player Classic, GSpot, and some other useful tools. Some other good packs are the Storm Codec Pack and the Vista Codec Pack which can be run on Windows 2000 and XP, not just Vista. The Storm pack also includes Media Player Classic. After running the Tweak Tool, removing broken codecs, installing a new codec pack, and installing a different media player, try opening some files with the new media player and see how they go. Media Player Classic is included in two of the codec packs I mentioned; another one of my personal favorite media players is VLC. I like GOM Player and MPlayer too....
