Speedtouch modem or Netgear router?

WHich would be better for me..?

I have a speedtouch 330 modem as provided by orange ISP
for my supposed 8mb connecting.
Would I be better off with a router such as a netgear or similar?
Would the ethernet connection give me better speed and reliability?

Is it hard to set up?

when i started with internet i had a 330 speed dialer and was very happy untill i got a phillips 660 router now i would not go back as to installing you should get a disk with any new router that does most of the work:wave

 

Thanks guys, just been and bought a Netgear DG8314G router (as recommended)

Set up and my Speed has increased from 455kbps download to 898kbps bownload WOW

I am impressed.

Thats downloading from microsoft.

My speed test on (http://www.speedtest.net/)

says I'm over 6.0mb see-(http://www.speedtest.net/result/106439229.png)Down as compared to last test using Speedtouch330 of 2.1mb Down

Again I'm gobsmacked.
