Splitting an HDMI cable for video and external audio?

I typically connect my gaming consoles to my computer monitor through HDMI, and then hook the composite cables up to my speakers and output audio through them and video through the HDMI. But the WiiU doesn't support outputting through both cables simultaneously, so I'm out of luck with that. Is there a connector or adapter that would allow me to split an HDMI cable into HDMI video and standard PC speaker audio?

What I'm basically looking for is something like http://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters...354341651&sr=1-1&keywords=hdmi+to+dvi+and+r/l , where I can plug the HDMI coming from my WiiU into the adapter and then output it through DVI to my monitor and R/L to my speakers. But from the way the description of that particular item is worded, ti sounds like it only converts in one direction and the DVI side has to be the input. Is there anything I can get that would allow me to go the other way? I found another one that does VGA and R/L as output instead, but I'm wondering if it being VGA would affect the video quality.
