Spooldr.sys Malware Infection

    Hi There,

    Forgive me, first time poster, first ever infection on my pc! - I have done the prep and run the programs as advised and attached logs. However, my pc is still running slowly aftering running processes which I did after getting a blue screen telling me about spooldr.sys - my wife also said that on one occasion the mouse seemed to be controlled by someone else! - I have avg and otehr programs and have never had an infection before - can anyone help?:cry

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

    Your logs show no signs of infections especially the infection you mentioned. Are you sure the blue screen was form spooldr.sys and not something else like spoolsv.exe

    Most likely not malware.


    Please explain what operations are slow! For example answer the below:
    • Is boot up slow?
    • Is shutdown slow?
    • Is browsing/surfing slow?
    • Is downloading slow?
    • Is running any application?
    • Is it also slow in safe boot mode?
    • Also are any process showing in Task Manager to be using a lot of CPU time?
    • Anything else slow?
    Try using a different mouse to see what happens.

    The only thing I have for you to do is the below which was requested in step 1 of the READ & RUN ME.


    Uninstall the below old versions of software:
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6
    Java(TM) 6 Update 13
    Java(TM) 6 Update 3
    Java(TM) 6 Update 5
    Java(TM) 6 Update 7

    After a reboot, install the current version of Sun Java from: Sun Java Runtime Environment
