Every time my computer boots up, I get the message "sprecover not found."

I can't find anything about this anywhere. First, does anyone know what it is and second, how do I fix it.
Running Windows XP Pro SP3 - I always do all the updates.
    Thank you so much.

    Greetings, sigother...

Probably has to do with a failed service pack or update installation - you might try going to Windows Update and viewing your update histoey, see if there's anything that stands out in your list...

Is the machine running smoothly otherwise?

For the most part it's running smoothly. I just feel like there's a lot of processes running since I went back to Normal Startup in msconfig upon advice in this forum. I'm actually going through the Admin tool - services for this right now.
Is is better to download a program to do this?
    Thanks again.

Many of us 'geeks' (myself included) use Black Viper's recommendations - lots of good info there...

Oops - just realized you were talking about processes, not services...sorry about that!
