spurious atu detected

Nothing serious just a question.I couldnt connect to my dsl for 1/2 an hour,
modem error 'spurious atu detected',what does it mean?,no conectivity problems.Adsl termination unit?What is it?Its all fine now,Just want to make sure everything is allright.

 

Looks like an ATU is the terminator for each end of the DSL circuit. One in the modem, one at the isp. If the problem persists, you should probably call your isp and let them know, possible h/w failure.

I was just about do that just before it just connected.I think it was error on their side.As I have not changed anything here.Thanks for the quick reply.

 

Hey np, that's what we're here for. Most likely they brought it down intentionally for servicing of some sort.
