Spy Doctor locks up

I run Windows XP SE. I have been having this problem with Spy Doctor for about a week. After updating successfully and press "Finish" I get this message,
"This program cannot be closed because it is locked by system". I cannot close it until I shut down and reboot. I've used the Windows Task Manager and tried to close it from the Task Bar but nothing works. Hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance.

Are you talking about Spyware Doctor by PCTools? Have you tried simply uninstalling and reinstalling it? Have you contacted PCTools support? Before you decide to try uninstalling/reinstalling, make sure you have your registration code so you can re-activate the program when you reload it. You should be able to retrieve the code by clicking Help > About
