Spy Sheriff! I've followed your steps! Here's my log

    If anyone here can help with this I will be eternally grateful. I'm actually pretty decent at this stuff, and take pride in being able to work pc problems out on my own but this one has me at a loss.

    I have followed all the instructions in your sticky thread and even some tutorials involving registry edits from a couple other forums.. but this thing keeps coming back.

    Here is my HJT log..

    Also in step 6 of the sticky thread, you should have clicked on the link saying:

    Special Removal Procedures

    It tell you have to fix SpySheriff.

    Also note: browsers should be closed when using HijackThis.

    OK. I did everything from this thread.. http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407 and never checked back to that first one. I just ran HJT out of frustration. I'll run through all the steps again and post the log correctly. Sorry for the mistake.

    Not necesssary! You just need to goto Special Removal Procedures and see the referenced link to SpySheriff. In this link go right to step 4 as long as you have HJT installed and run it properly.

    Yeah, that's what I meant actually. It's all good now. Thank you SO much! Seems everything is ok now.

    I guess after following all the steps on that first page, it was wishful thinking on my part that I was done... but after going thru the quick steps from the other thread, spy sheriff is finally gone.

    Thanks again, and sorry for the dumb mistake.
