Spyaxe/Smitfraud???

Hi guys,

Yesterday I started getting prompts at the taskbar that my computer is infected and other prompts plus my desktop has gone replaced by a blue screen with white and yellow text stating there is an infection and that I need to clck the link. I knew it was spyware. Also tasakmanager has been disabled.

I tried the vrious fixes available including smitraudfix, smitrem, installed AVG antispyware , tried Hijckthis and Spybot but to no avail.

Can anyone kindly help please as I am panicing?

No panic.

Please go to the READ & RUN ME FIRST and scroll down to the bottom of the page. Select the link for the cleaning instructions for your operating system and click on that. On the page that opens up, scroll down a little ways and you'll see a link for a set of instructions for installing and running Combofix correctly and one for running MGTools. These are not the first links with just the downloads but are a bit further down. Please try and run these and attach the logs here. If you aren't able to run them, let me know what happens.

If you do have some success with this, after attaching the above logs, please go back to the beginning of the 'READ & RUN ME and work through all the instructions without repeating Combofix but with everything else.

If your computer is running at all, I recommend going through the whole READ & RUN ME rather than skipping to the second part of the instructions. It would be a lot better if it's possible.

Yes computer is working ok, except for blocked task manager, wallpaper with warning and the occasional taskbar notification/security pop up. I will do as advised and go through all the READ ME FIRST. However since the proceedurer is long and I have some urgent work to have finished by Tesday I will then dedicate a whole day to try and solve this problem and go throught he whole post step by step. I am hesitant to do it before I finish my work just in case the computer dies on me in the process .

I think you should run Removing Zlob aka SmitFraud, SpySheriff, Infections before you start in with the rest of the instructions. This may help. This scan produces two logs, both called rapport.txt. Please rename the first rapport.txt file before you continue with the cleaning procedures or the second log will overwrite the first one. Attach the two logs here and then continue on with the instructions in the READ & RUN ME. Although there are a lot of instructions, the whole process does not take that long and it helps clean the computer while giving us a lot of information that will help complete what the different scans start.
