Hi all, recently the spybot S&D 2.1 i had installed went a bit doolally. It kept popping up on web pages i was viewing at the time, asking me to download and install a version i already had. In short i deleted the whole of Spybot then opted to reinstall from the popup box that kept appearing.
It all works fine but now have a problem when i want to download files, using the window with pages that float between the folders. When the files have downloaded,i go to select open or install. The Spybot download box appears over the window and i then cannot access the file i downloaded!
Does this make sense? I use ME.
    Cheers Wild.

Something's bogus. Spybot's newest releasae is only version 1.3B4, there is no version 2, and I've never seen behavior like that from it.

I've never seen anything like that either, but I think the version number is just a typo in the first post: he meant 1.2.

    Yes, Wild?

    Wild,
I agree with the Boss and Endi-o. That thing is doing such abnormal things for Spybot that I'd immediately
    1. uninstall it, but not assume that it'll completely uninstall,
    2. Delete the folder it was in and all of the files left behind,
    3. Run a good registry cleaner right away and let it back up and kill anything it finds that looks remotely (or exactly) like Patrick or Kolla or Spybot,
    4. Make sure my Temp folders (Username path and Windows) were empty,
    5. Run my anti-V and my Ad-Aware right away, and finally
    6. Download Spybot from MG and install it and run it.
(And if it won't install come back and let us help you scour the nasty outta there.)

    Good luck, ma man.
