Hi everybody,I removed the Spybot S&D via Control Panel(add/remove),but when i run antivirus program,i found about 60 entrees, related to spybot like:
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Spybot-Search and destroy\Recovery\Adware Alert.zip etc.to ...\Adware Alert2.zip and so on.
How can i get rid of Spybot completely?
    Thank You,
    Alex.

Why would anyone want to remove Spybot?

Those are probably baddies that Spybot removed for you (or you manually removed) which is why it is in the recovery folder.
You should occasionally empty (purge) out the items under the Recovery section of Spybot.

You also should be happy that Spybot is doing its job.

Thank You,RFXCasey and Elbiatcho1 for the replies. It is great to have access to the forum of so many smart people.I am not very skilled in computor area.My expertise is in very different field.I do though rely in my work on computor to be fast and reliable. So,when the virus scan(antivirus program, provided by ISP)showed, that my computor had virus(turned out to be archive bomb),i had to ask third party for help, and was advised to download and try Spybot. After it did not help with the virus,i was, again, advised to remove it(Spybot).Since than i managed to remove the virus and Spybot with all the files.Should i get it(Spybot) reinstalled?I do have the antispyware program with the ISP.
One more thing. My computor is 4 years old,and was not working very fast for the last year.I do know, how to do basic cleaning(temp.files,defragm.registry cleaning etc.),But it is still slow. There seam to be no spyware, virus, idle CPU-99%.
I was advised to update the computor with the new memory unit. Also i noticed, that it works much faster after i turn the modem off and, after awhile,-on.But, in about an hour, it slows down again.
Can somebody advise me on this subject.
Thank You for all Your help,
    Uspech.

You may be re-infected, baddies tend to hide very well.
I'd go through the very helpful Malware Removal Guide.

    Hi again,
I had run CCleaner and Smart Defrag. Now i have to deal with the Start up items. In my right bottom corner tray there are 3 icons:"Volume","Safely remove hardware" and E-Protect,which is an ISP(Telus) provided combo of antispyware, antivirus, antifraud tools and firewall.I looked at CCleaner Start up Manager. Some of the items in the log are ON and some are OFF.But the meaning of them is far beyond my knowledge.I looked online for the related information, but there is such an amount of it for each item and of such complexity, that i don't think i have any hope to understand it to the extend of being able to remove the appropriate Startup item safely.Could anybody, possibly, look at those items and make the recommendation what can be removed? And,if"yes",how can i transfer the CCleaner record to the Forum?
    Thank You,
    uspech. :zzz
