Spybot S&D freeware latest updates

I have been running Spybot for 2 years now, once a week I update the program. It usually gives me a handful of new detection rules..maybe 20 or 30new rules, 100 at the most. Over the last two years spybot slowly created its database from about 2000 items to 7000 items to search for. Today( 12-31-05) I hit the update button, successfully downloaded all new detection rules and prompted Spybot to immunize the system. I received about 5000 new rules today! I went from approximately 7000 items in the immunization folder to 12000.

Just wondering has anyone else noticed this/????? Thx Ben

 

What version of Spybot are you using? When you say 12,000 items, are you referring to what Spybot is looking for, as mine is over 37,000 items.

 

I wasn't clear, sorry. I am talking about "Permanent internet Explorer Immunity". Check out the immunize function next time you update, mine went from 7000 items to 12907 items today. I also have more than 30,000 installed checks when using the search and destroy test. It seems that spybot has been busy lately.
