Spybot S&D v1.4

Posted this in the spyware area but may be more appropriate here. I have Spybot S&D 1.4 on two machines. My bigger, faster machine takes about 5 times longer to download simple updates than my smaller less equiped machine takes. 10 seconds for the smaller one 1 minuter for the newer faster machine. If I want to uninstall Spybot completely so I can reinstall a clean version is it best to go through add/remove or use the uninstaller that comes with the program? I want a clean install. Are there any files or anything else that needs to be removed before reinstallation?

Usually the best way to unistall a program is to go the unistaller that comes with the program. After you unistall just do a reboot then start the install again.

You could always manually update spybot s&d if you wanted too.

Latest version of Spybot S&D took forever on my W98SE laptop. Seemed to get stuck, slowed down, when checking CWS and MySoft definitions. I have deleted it and gone back to Spybot 1.3. Works well. When I run CWS checking program, it says I have no instances of CWS. Can't understand why. v1.4 works OK on my XP drive, though!. Bazza

I use Win98SE and Spybot S&D 1.4 and I havent had a problem with spybot running.

Definitely something wrong when I run Spybot on my laptop. I'm gonna have to try an on-line scan, or two. Bazza
