Hello, I'm having a problem with two program that I use for malware removal
Spybot search and destroy and Threatfire.
    In Spybot's case
When I run it, it doesn't show up, but it shows up in the task manager if I press ctrl+alt+delete.
I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, both in normal and safe mode, but the program itself doesn't show up, I can run the updater seperatly.

In the case of threatfire, I know the tray program need to start for hte program to work, so I enabled it in msconfig, it doesn't show up in the part next to the time normally, but the TFtray.exe shows up in task manager, I have also tried uninstalling and installing it, both in normal and safe mode, to no effect.

Any idea for these problem would be appreciated greatly.
Other Anti-virus program work, AVG, and the other program recommdnded in the malware XP guide.

I am running a 32bit version of Window XP professional updated to the newest version.

Without more details that would be provided by having you run the full cleaning procedure and attaching the logs, all we can suggest is that you post in the Software Forum. Having applications that do not run does not necessarily mean you have malware problems but the only way we can tell is by looking at all of the logs. I would suggest that you begin by totally uninstalling ThreatFire and then rebooting and DO NOT reinstall it at this time. Then work thru the below and attach the requested logs:

Ok, I figured out one of the problem, why Threatfire won't start.
It's turned off in the service.msc, which works after I turn it on in there.
Still no idea on spybot search and destroy.

    Who turned it off?

Did you disable somehow? Did you block it with your protection software?

I repeat, if you want to check for malware, run the READ & RUN ME and attach the logs; otherwise, I suggest that you post in the Software Forum for help.

I might have turned off threatfire in service.msc by myself, but I have didn't turn anything off for spybot, it uninstall and install fine, but it doesn't show up when I run it, but when I open the task manager, it shows up in the running process section.
Whether in safe mode or normal window.
All of the other malware software in the guide work, except for spybot search and destroy.

Please attach all of the logs requested in the READ & RUN ME so we can check for problems related to malware but this does not sound like a malware problem.
