spybot won't run

    I'm working on my pastors computer. While going thru the read and run first tried to run spybot, it is consuming 89 to 93% of cpu but not doing anything, screen stays on desktop background,it is running under user natalie but there is no user natalie on this computer. Where would this user come from?
    Gateway computer, 400 mhz,256 mem, 30 gig free on HD.
    Also noticed that it is running xp home but using fat 32. Is this an upgrade install over 98? If so do I need to do a clean install of xp? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Try skipping the Spybot step and continuing with the guide to gain us some of the logs.

    Yes if FAT32 then very likely an upgrade of Win98/ME to XP, but XP could also be installed fresh on FAT32, NTFS is preferable but not essential.
