I recently upgraded my spysweeper to the newest version (yes, I have the purchased version. People always ask if I do.) Anyway, I recieved a result as Bravesentry Fakealert. However, I have none of the symptons of this supposed adware, and I had just swept before I updated and found nothing. I'm led to believe this is a false positive. Am I correct or should I be more worried?

Attach the log from Spy Sweeper so I can see exactly what's been detected.

I haven't downloaded any kind of program at all, much less any freeware that this could have been bundled with.

Can you attach the entire log?

Did you remove the entry with SS?

Thats... kinda all it says. Thats the only thing it found, the rest of them are just times of the other sweeps. It didn't find anything else related to Bravesentry, which also leads me to believe it is a false alarm. I didn't remove it, in case it was an important file or something, I still haven't had any symptoms.

This particular detection is ok to remove, I would run a full sweep and remove all found traces.

..so is it an infection or a false alarm? There are no other traces, there's absolutely nothing else found. Thats one of the reasons why I don't think its real.

It seems to be a false positive however it's hard to say really. I would remove it and not worry about it.
