I'm trying to help a friend with a malware problem. I got great help here when my computer was bitten a few years back so I figured this is a good place to start.

Her computer has four user logins for XP, only one has full admin access. One of the users has been hit with the Spyware 2009 malware. From what I saw it did not pop up on the other logins.

Can I delete the infected login to get rid of the malware? If not do I start the cleaning process using the admin login or the in the one that is infected?

I know we aren't suppose to bump. But, it's been a few days and I was hoping to get started on this.

I just need to know if I should work in the infected log on or in the admin log on?

That's how long it takes because that is how busy we are. Right now we are averaging 3 to 5 days response time and getting worse since malware keeps getting worse. The bump cost you at least 3 more days.

Deleting the user account that is infected will obviously take care of that user account, but it will not remove any malware files from the PC that are stored in other places. In addition, other user accounts could be infected.

If you wish to clean a particular user account then that is the one you need to log into and run the cleaning procedure on.
