I have looked over and performed much of what has been reported about this problem. Also did the entire procedure on http://www.pchell.com/support/smitfraud.shtml but nothing seems to work.

    Here is the problem
I ran spy sweeper and it found 4 cookies. See screenshot 1a and 1b
I rebooted and within 30 sec the spyware window appears without me starting anything 1d

If you click on block attack it takes you to billingit.com with the title of Trusted Antivirus 1c
If you click on the x in the upper right hand corner it will tell you about 3 or 4 more spyware and then close
Noticed spy sweeper sometime prompts about stopping traffice to log.drivecleaner.com or log.drivecleaner.com.linksys when you click on the x
After you close the app it will appear within a period of time. I just let the machine sit for this entire period
It took about 1 hr for the windows to come back. 1e

I have installed Hijackthis and performed all the suggestions.

Please help me figure out this problem

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
    Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run theREAD & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can running steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.

You guys are magic. This procedure worked like a champ. I tried many other programs but this process killed it about half way thru. I believe Malware byte took it out. Thanks so much.
