I've got a problem on my Mac where every so often I'm browsing and suddenly while a page is loading a get a pop-up message from Safari that says:

Warning!!! Your computer contains various signs of viruses and malware programs presence. Your system requires immediate antivirus check! Spyware Guard 2008 will perform a quick and free scanning of your PC for viruses and malicious programs."

Among other messages, these are getting really annoying. And I thought Macs were immune from this stuff!! Please help!

I'm sorry but you will have to wait for someone to answer your post in the Macintosh forum since our Malware Forum is PC specific. MACs are not immune to malware. They are just not targetted as much as Windows systems. What you have is a rogue antispyware tool infection which is commonly referred to by names like Zlob and SmitFraud when found on PCs. This infection is also frequently seen with Vundo infections.
