Please run HijackThis click on the "Open the Misc Tools Section" button on the open page. Then select "Delete an NT service" on the left-hand side.
A "Delete a Windows NT Service" window will pop up. Try entering the following into the box and then click OK:

    lhrlkusypdlv

If that does not work try entering the short name: MsUpdate6

Then reboot and let's see if the service is truly gone.

Unable to locate teh lhrlkusypdlv service but did locate the MsUpdate 6 service...As I attempted to delete the NT service I was presented with the cue that the "service was enabled and/or running. Disable it firtst using HJT itsefl or the Service.msc window."

Attempted to fix via HJT but the O23 file returned every time, even after reboot.

How do I disable this service before I remove it?

Okay! Run services.msc and try to locate the service. Then stop it and disable it. Use the same procedure as mentioned in step 2 of the READ ME FIRST (but there we were referring to a different service).

After that, use HJT to remove it.

    HJT log attached.

Things appear to be looking good. I also reinstalled AOL from disk (instead of via website) and appear to have beaten that problem too.

I think I am ready to hook PC back up to the internet..agree?

Looks good! You need to complete the steps in the below link before reconnecting (you need a firewall and disable the so so one that is built-in to SP2):

How to Protect yourself from malware!

    And yuck! AOL! (my opinion).
