spyware paranoia

After my recent malware infection I'm seeing spyware everywhere. Even machines I administer which have had virus protection all along show up with trojans when I do the trend micro on-line scan.

I also deal with several mac machines but most of the tools and postings here pertain to windows systems. Is anyone aware of a good scanning tool that will pick up malicious programs on mac or other linux systems? People in these user communities like to think they are immune but my paranoia tells me otherwise.

I am not familiar at all with Macs so I am not sure if this will apply to you or not but I will let chaslang or PP know to see if they know how to protect a Mac from malware.
