Spyware problem?

When trying to update microsoft anti-spyware and e-trust pest patrol I get the message that no internet connection can be detected.

I preformed all tests that are required before making a post and no spyware was detected.

However the two online scans I could not do. Beside IE I have the firefox browser.

Trend scan for other browsers; Java options all showed red x, when I tried to manual install Java the install would not complete.

SyMantec scan error message; redirection limit for this URL exceeded.

I also tried to do both of scans using IE, however my IE acts as if I'm not connected to the internet, error message "The page cannot be displayed"

 

guess I must have bad breath or something?
