Spyware Problems?

I have been working with SPD of the Software Forum. After another look at my HJT log after a HJT fix, he asked that I start a thread here and refer back to my thread there entitled "BOOT UP ERROR MESSAGE". I should also point out that I have a thread here entitled Attune which I just found out is a mild spyware. I had it for some time (years) and never seemed to be affected by it.

I decided to repost what I said here too:

Run IE, select Tools, Internet Options. Now select Security and then click the Trusted Sites circle. Then click the Sites button. Look for the 206.161.125.149 address in the Web sites box and select it. Then click Remove. Then at the bottom make sure there is a check mark in the box that says Require server verification...... blah blah. Now click OK. And OK again.

I followed your steps and while there was no box at the bottom saying "Require server notification", the item is gone from my HJT log. So, I guess I'm okay, right?? One other thing, if I may, what do you suggest about the Attune (thread posted here early this am entitled "Attune") that shows up in my registry? It's been there for several years and I just saw a thread here calling it a mild spyware. Thanks much for your help.

Sounds good! Just double check that it does not come back after a reboot.

I believe BJ is already working with you in that thread related to Attune. So let's not step on any toes and let him work that in your other thread. I sure he will provide you with some suggestions.
