spyware scanning system locks up

    when I scan for adware or malware my system locks up on the same file. It happens on every scan software, superanti-spyware, malwarebytes and iobit. I have a copy of the file and what my system says but I don't know how to fix it. Here is what windows is showing

    My initial guess is that you have some hard drive corruption.

    If you are scanning and have gotten all the way to the \winsxs\ section, you should be mostly done with the scan. Has anything been detected before then?

    And when you say your system "locks up". Go into more detail

    Can you move your mouse?
    Can you still type?
    Can you toggle NUM LOCK on your keyboard?

    You may first want to try running a chkdsk on the hard drive. See here on how to do this:

    Click to open Computer.

    Right-click the hard disk drive that you want to check, and then click
    Properties.

    Click the Tools tab, and then, under Error-checking, click Check Now
    Fill in both check marks at the next screen
    Press start.
    Allow it to schedule to run the scan after you reboot
    Now reboot :)
    Sometimes this is kind of buggy. If it immediately reboots right back into Windows. Try the above steps again. This scan takes 2 hours + on average
