Spyware/virus free? PC still running shite

Hi

I've been having problems recently watching movies, shutting down (takes ages) and my PC is generally slower than before. Spyware would be the obvious suspect. My biggest problem in tracking down the issue is occaisionally it goes away after scanning or trying some fix, only to return a few days later. It could be hardware compatibility or something else. I was hoping that your combined expertise could help me track down the problem once and for all.

I've scanned as with Trend Micro and at Symantec, run Stinger, Ad-Aware and Spybot and according to them I'm clean but the problem persists.

I know the PC is running good when avi movies play smoothly. I used to run ad-aware when they stuttered and that would fix it (they would run fine and the PC would run at a good speed) even if it didnt find anything other than tracking cookies. That no longer works. I even had it 'fix' when I turned off the hardware acceleration then turned it back up and it was fine, for a couple of days. That no longer does it either.

I havent noticed what I'm doing to return the problem or what the route cause is.

Where do I go from here?

After you fix these entries your HJT log will be clean. Are you having any problems?

Thanks for looking at my log and for the advice bjgarrick.

My PC is now running as it should but again nothing appeared to have been fixed. (It ran OK after scanning with HijackThis and fixing nothing). Still not sure exactly what the problem was but its gone again for now.

I've installed spyware blaster and never use IE unless absolutely necessary and hopefully that should help. I've also fixed the items you recommended.

If the problem returns I hope you wont mind if I post again on this subject.
