Spyware/Virus issue?

    Hi everyone,

    If you don't mind, I'd like to pick your brains a little bit. The company I'm working for has offsite employees and in the past couple months it's seemed like, we've had problems with some of them losing all of their file associations. Here in the main office, we haven't had any issues with that - only our offsite users. Is anyone aware of any spyware or virus that's been going around lately that could cause this? I've been trying to go to different knowledgebases/forums (i.e., Novell) to see if anything may have been caused by software we installed but haven't stumbled across anything yet. Any kind of opinions/comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks for all the help.

    It happens quite often on improperly protected PCs. I'm not sure what names the malware would go under but it happens enough. Thats one of the reasons for sites like the below:
