SpywareBlaster vs AVG

Chas Lang, in his excellent article on How to Protect Yourself From Malware, noted that there was a problem using both SpywareBlaster and AVG at the same time. I have been using AVG for years, and now want to use SpywareBlaster based on recommendations, but I am concerned about potential interference. Has the AVG 9 version solved the problem or does it still exist?

This was an issue with the new upgrade (from v7.5) to AVG v8 - which got sorted out with an update. The fix arrived around June 2008 from what I found on the net.
