    I was thinking:

Use a SSD drive for operating system and programs and a RAID configuration for my software (for storing data) (fault tolerant, swappable, replaceable) SATA HDD.

    Anyone see difficulties?
    Anyone have things to consider?
    Tips?

You should have no issues, plenty of people doing the same thing. I have a SSD boot drive and two 1Tb drives for programs and music/video/etc. If you have Windows 7 you'll love booting to the desktop ready to go in 10-12 seconds.
