I would like to upgrade my main Windows SATA Hard Drive with one of the new SSD Drives, but they seem really expensive and I don't know if the speed is really worth it. What do you think?

Unless your speed is strictly limited by IO (In/Out of information) or you rely heavily on low latency applications (for example Photoshop) then SSD's will provide far less advantage then they cost. Usually it is far more cost efficient to max out your motherboard's RAM (You may have to upgrade to a 64bit OS and I would suggest Vista over XP64).

In my opinion, SSD's would be great for PC's that will be in a "rugged" work environment, or in an instance where you need high write/seek times. However, I've read that the life of SSD drives can be substantially shorter then that of conventional HD's due to the number of read/writes you can execute. So, my only caution to the SSD drive you purchase would be make sure it's got a high read/write value, or make sure that the warranty is really good!!!
