Stampede for $50 laptops

Surplus iBooks 1000 sold in 4 hrs.

They sold over 1000 in 4 hours. One per person if I remember the previews earlier this month.

I'd stand in line for a $50 laptop. But the people who plan these things have to do better, what do they expect? Hand out tickets or vouchers.

On the other hand why would you take your kid in a stroller? Listen to the little voice and go back to the car.

 

What that article doesn't mention is that these were four year-old laptops!

I'd piss myself and drive over people for a three year-old laptop, but for a FOUR year-old laptop...now thats just rediculous!

Greed is an ugly thing, aint it? I've seen supposedly normal, sane housewives literally ripping clothing apart between them, and fist fighting, in Post-Christmas Sales, rather than let anyone else buy the so-called bargan they probably didn't even want if they thought about it.

 

Also, these were ibooks, not even powerbooks!

The thing is, it's always the retards that are least likely to even get any use out of something that are the ones that will wait in line and fight for it. Just because something is free or close to free, people don't even care what it is, they just know they want it!

They'll get home and be like "eh, what the hell do I do with this thing?"

It's like "it's free?" fight for it now and ask what it is later. I would take a free laptop if someone was giving it away, but I wouldn't even miss my lunch break for a four year old laptop, let alone wait in line for hours.

People are just stupid. Half of the people who bought those laptops won't even use them.

This race disgusts me. I want off this planet!
