Well I have a 50" Plasma that gets hot sometimes and will auto shut down. So I decided to get some better fans to add to it. Found a great deal on a few 150cfm Delta fans....these things are insane. They push so much air, and are a little loud. Needless to say I don't need them to run all the time. I also installed one into my PC.

These are the 4 pin fans by the way. So my question is this: Is there some sort of stand alone thermostat type device that will cut the fans on/power on when it reaches a certain temp? Thanks for any help guys.

I have seen micro temperature cutoffs that use a bimettallic strip but not vice versa and I think they only have a very limited number of operating cycles, you could get a system fan control unit with a built in temperature sensor but that would be pretty expensive and a mess to wire up.

I'd be looking at something like these antec thermally controlled fans-

I think in the long run the extra expense of of purchasing more fans would circumvent alot of trouble setting something up with the ones you have.

The Screen shouldnt really overheat under normal circumstances ,have you cleaned the inside with a can of compressed air?

    Welcome to the forum:)

How exactly do you clean inside the computer. What is a can of compressed air, if you don't mind me asking?
