What the heck has happened to our Dolphins???!!!! They seem to be taking a page from the AZ Cardinals this year.

I dunno, they still need a quarterback. Last year they were 0-6 at this time, this year 2-4, so I guess it's a little better. They way they beat Denver in the season opener I really thought they had improved, but it seems to be back to the same baloney.

How've you been btw? I seem to have missed you several times the past few weeks. Things are 5x5 here, Abby's doing good, we're still dodging hurricanes, work is progressing fairly well, working 5-6 more shuttle launches and then transferring to the Moon/Mars program.

 

Space business as usual, eh? Glad to hear you both are well. I'm doing good. New job,, more than double the salary,, triple the bennies. I finally bought another bike. It's been 18 years since I terrorized the country, so I figured it was time I got back in the saddle.

Yeah,, same line of work, but in an industrial setting. I am working on stuff that cools molten metals in a hurry,, cools motor control rooms, and also cools the people who work around that stuff.

We are headed out the door to some friends' house for a few hours; try to grace this place with another visit when you can.

 

We're doing great. Finally doing some home improvements. Eric built some custom shelving and cabinets up in our loft bed, built me a window seat with a bookcase underneath and is working on a built in entertainment center. Really, we gutted our room and are starting from scratch in a lot of ways. It's been 9 years that we've been there, it really needed a face-lift.

We've been mudding and sanding the walls for the last 3 days. I feel like when I cough, a cloud of white smoke should come out of my lungs. (I know, I should be wearing a mask )

After this, Drexel gets his room done!

I'm playing hookey from church with Drexel. He's had a fever for a few days. Little congested, but no swollen lymph nodes, so we've got our fingers crossed. I don't know if I could survive another year like the last one.

GT, I think they all ditched out on us. I'm going to have to get going pretty quick too. I'm getting in some "cuddle" time with Drexel before I put on the work clothes and get back to the room. We're hoping to rent the sander and do the floor tomorrow or Tuesday!

I really like it. Some of the voltages I work with are scary,, I am working around 6.9 KV,, 22.3 KV,, 44 KV. that stuff can reach out and touch you. but everything is geared for safety there. there are a million and one SOP's I have to follow,, 1 hour of actual work,, 3 hours of paperwork and guidelines.

 

High voltages MANDATE strict safety procedures. Highest I've ever worked with was 440, many years ago, and even that can ruin your day. Ruined a perfectly good screwdriver for me once. LOL.

 

Last Friday an electrician disconnected 22.3 KV power to a furnace, under load. The fireball was about 50 yards across, and blew out of the open roof. I thought someone blew up the plant. Scary stuff to be sure.

 

Ouch. Anybody get hurt?

 

I don't see what the big deal is, I have boots just like that.....

Kolya and Eric are downstairs having their little sale. Kolya was so cute. I'm really proud of her, she put some things in that sale that I know really hurt to give up.

 

My first real permanent job, my boss's wife was from Thailand, and she'd occasionally bring in lunch for our crew. !!!!!!!!! Tasted good, but was painfully hot!

Kolya... a true giving spirit.
