start bar/ xp style

How do I change my start bar?
How do I change the style?
not the theme

and I used to be able to right click on the desktop and get my display properties in the dropdown, noe I can't. How do I get that back?

If you mean change to classic style then right click on the start button then properties. There you can choose options for your start and taskbar.
