start menu folders

hi, i'm using "Windows Vista Home Premium" on a new computer.

on my start menu, the group of links on the upper right-hand side (Documents, Pictures, Music), are all empty. The icons for the folders are there, but when I right-click and look at the properties, it's all empty (O bytes).

I _do_ have a pictures folder, but it is set to C:\Users\Name\Pictures...same thing with my Documents and Music folders.

Why do the icons on my start menu not take me to the right folders? and how can i fix this?

your help is GREATLY appreciated! I hope i explained my problem correctly.

on my other computer which also is using Vista, the start folders point to C:/Users/Name/Pictures -- but not on this computer.

On this one when I click "properties" for one of the Start Menu folders, it is all empty, it has no folder that it is pointing to (not that i can tell).

I don't even have a C:\Documents and Settings folder that I can find.

Is there a way I can change where the Start Menu folders point to?
