Start Menu Freezing And Other problems

For the past couple of months, even after a format, my start bar has kept freezing, and I can still use the window that is currently open, but no click the bottom to change which window is open.
Im not sure if this was to do with me installing trillian and msn 6.1 or my new mouse :\

Also somtimes ll the programmes minamize, and the start menu dissapears, and all i can see is an empty desktop with no icons, then it suddenly goes back into windows with icons there again.
Sometime it says explorer.exe has crashed or something I forgot....

Incase it helps, I uploaded this thing from DXdiag to show data of my pc...

sounds a tricky one the next time you recieve the error message concerning explorer exe can you try and get as much info from there as you can

also try accessing your event viewer for any error messages

control panel--performance and maintenance(category view)-or straight to admininstrative tools(classic view) then select event viewer and look for any errors you can get more details by double-clicking on a specific error

post back with any info and we may be able to help you out

 

Well, I sorted out that explorer crash thing (I just deleted lots of programmes, ran ad-aware and some other stuff).However the start bar still freezes alot, which is a real pain, because I do 3d graphics, I have to switch between Photoshop and 3d max...
But the task bar freezing doesn't show any crash menu/error menu, I only experienced errors with the other bug ( which is sorted).

 

Try this.

Star, run
type:
services.msc

Click OK

Locate SSDP disocvery service.

Doubleclick it.

Stop it.

If that fixes it, set the startup to disabled.
