Start Menu - Long List, Cannot Get To Bottom

System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1
Laptop: ASUS K52F

This issue concerns the start menu and how to get to the bottom of the list when clicking on the Start button.
I have a lot of items in my start list - about 37 items. When I use my 22 inch HD monitor connected to my laptop, I have no problem seeing the entire list when clicking on the Start button due to the monitor size. However when I do not use the monitor and just use the laptop, I cannot get to the bottom of the list. When I click on the Start button, I only see about 24 out of 37 items. Yes, I can decrease the font size until I see the entire list, but then the font is so small, I need a magnifying glass! Is there a solution to this? Can a scroll bar be asigned to the Start button list?
