"Start Now" virus, Post A

I'm not a sophisticated computer user, but I believe that my machine has been infected with the subject virus. When I open Firefox, I get a screen labeled "Start Now." If I try to change my home page on Tools-Options-General screen, "http://dm.startnow.com/" always replaces it.

I followed your procedures for fixing Google redirection Problems exactly
(see the attached logs), without success.

Then I went to your Malware Removal Guide and followed those procedures through "SUPERAntiSpyware - running & getting a log," in Step 3.
(See SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log - 09-27-2011 - 15-08-00.log)

That program located a trojan called "Agent/Gen-BanLoad" at C:\$RECYCLE. BIN\S-1-5-21-4209004293-426973474-2954093244-1001\$R6DSCW.EXE.
I was able to get that program to delete that malware.

I continued to follow the procedures in "Vista & Windows 7 Malware Removal/Cleaning Procedure" to the end (See attached logs), but was unable to find a way to attach the file "mbam-log-2011-09-27 (16-38-39)txt-Notepad," so I have pasted it below:

• Save the above as CFScript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your desktop) as ComboFix.exe
• At this point, you must exit all browsers now before continuing!
• You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your desktop.
• Now use your mouse to drag CFScript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe.

• This shall launch ComboFix.
  Note: Do not mouse-click ComboFix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
• Allow ComboFix to update itself if prompted.
• When it finishes, a log will be produced at C:\ComboFix.txt
  Note: If after running ComboFix you discover none of your programs will open up because you receive the following error: Illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion then you will need to reboot your computer which will normally fix this problem.

• Make sure you click Accept on the License Agreement from Trend Micro HiJackThis - v2.0.4 twice if prompted.
