    Hi,

This morning i started up my PC, everything normal, started up Google Chrome and it crashed about 5 times.

opened up firefox, went to google, searched and clicked a link and was re directed to an ad/spam page.

i thought it was probably a virus so i performed a Malwarebytes full scan and lo and behold a few trojans and other forms of malware were found.

i asked for them to be removed and it notified me that not all could be removed and that they would be deleted upon startup.

Restarted my PC, opened up Chrome and again it crashed everytime and now pop-ups started appearing.

tried to delete chrome (thinking it was the main issue) by going into add/remove programs but was denied entry and an error message returned.

restarted pc, was able to delete chrome. started up firefox but again the problems persisted.

restarted PC after a quick scan using malwarebytes and again being told not all could be qurantined.

upon startup i logged in and this message showed up

now appears everytime, even when runing in safe mode.

any help would be great :confused

Go to TDSSKiller and Download TDSSKiller.zip to your Desktop

    • Extract its contents to your Desktop so that you have TDSSKiller.exe directly on your Desktop and not in any subfolder of the Desktop.
    • Now double click the TDSSkiller.exe file to run it ( if using Vista or Windows 7 do not double click on it but rather, right click and select Run As Administrartor.
    • Allow the application to run and a window will open showing that it is TDSSkiller from Kaspersky
    • Click Start scan
    • It will run rather quickly and will notify you of whether anything is found or not.
    • Follow the instructions to delete/quarantine if asks you what to do when if finds something.
Whether an infection is found or not, a log file should be created on your C: drive ( or whatever drive you boot from) in the root folder named something like TDSSKiller.2.1.1_27.12.2009_14.17.04_log.txt which is based on the program version # and date and time run. Please attach this log to your next reply. (See: HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post )

    Then run MalwareBytes again.

Run Superantispyware as per the instructions.

Then continue on with the rest of the malware removal procedures which I shall link to below for reference.
