Starting a Blog?

Yes as Solaris mentions in one of her suggestions register for a Wordpress free account, its easy one to setup (guide HERE), wifh many good options as in a great spam filter, but also loads of templates and themes to choose from.

Then download and install, Windows Live Writer (while its not needed to post it is a superb app for ease if cresting your blog post and saving off drafts for later use) I use this to post to Wordpress all the time as I have drafts of apps i'm part way through testing etc.

Using Live Writer allows you to easily add images and make text live hyperlinks, it keeps track of your already posted posts and a list of your current drafts.

As for directing traffic to MG, you would be doing that as you would be referencing Majorgeeks in your post and linking to the downloads. Also pop the blog address in your homepage profile here and that generates the two way traffic, as in the main control panel to Wordpress you can see referrals etc and traffic data, now that I'm posting more to my blog in the past week, I've seen the traffic go up 200% as other Wordpress users start reading new posts, so you may gain a few regular readers over time.

I've just started using WP as I had to migrate from Live Spaces, but find it fairly easy to use and I can help you get the basics down.

All you need to really do is to think of a catchy name for the blogs title.... eg Bazza's software emporium etc

and its been listed in my homepage for many years, was Live Spaces before having to change to WP, so I'm learning WPs menus and options at present, and I just post items that interest me in passing.

The Enchanced Keyfinder app that I suggested to Tim (MA) and then added to MGs downloads pages and I then blogged about it and added the MG download link and developers Home Site (good to add the original site also) gained 68 hits just yesterday alone on its first posting.

Will likely do some guides and have one on the go now that will post once its proof read a few times.
