StartPage-DU.dll - Request for Help

Hello. I was hoping that someone here could offer me some advice because I am having difficulties removing the StartPage-DU.dll trojan from my WindowsXP computer.

I have followed the directions posted on this thread: READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT

After completing all the standard steps the problem was still not resolved so I attempted to sift through Chaslong's advice on how to isolate bad .exe and .dll files but I felt overwhelmed by the amount of files involved and was afraid of screwing something up badly.

I also Scanned with Hijack This and have those results available pending approval by someone more knowledgable to take a look at them.

I would greatly appreciate any assistance that you may offer because I am at a dead end.

Please follow the steps below exactly to make sure you install and use HijackThis properly. Not doing so will just delay getting fixed.

- Download HijackThis 1.99.1

- Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

- Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

- Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

- Run HijackThis and save your log file.

- Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).
