Hey I keep getting this error when I turn on my computer.

    C:\\Windows\\StartMenu\Programs\Startup is not accessible.
The system cannot open the file.

    AND

    C:\\Windows\Desktop is not accessible
The system cannot open the file.

Also it comes up Internet Explorer has performed an illegal operation and will be shutdown. Nothing comes up on my desktop. I'm running Bellsouth DSL. I called them and they tried to reset internet explorer, and then they directed me to Microsoft, and all they told me was I had an old version. I went to the microsoft website and downloaded the updates and it still comes up. I restarted in safe mode, and it said to fix the startup problems go to network or hardware settings in the control panel. I wasn't sure what to go to on that, but I couldn't find anything that I would think would help. I ran spyware too. I'm running Windows 98 Second Edition. This is really irritating and any help would be appreciated!! Thanks.

    Hey,

I would suggest going here, http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407

This will help make sure that your problem might not be spyware related. If you follow the tutorial it will help you remove some of the malware that might be a lot of your problems.

It is a good start for now. :)
