   Would someone in the community know of a trusted link other than "Real Answers that Work" that gives definitions to the registry items listed in the startup folder so I can read them & uncheck those to stop unnecessary programs from starting on load? There are many more out there than listed in "Real Answers that Work"

   Microsoft AntiSpyware beta will also tell you what/who's app is in your startup ( XP only ) location of menu ... Advanced Tools > System Explorers > Startups, hightlight a startup and right panel lists all about the app.
   
   
   There are other sites and a few other apps that do the same.
