   Hello:
   When I start the computer, I get this message
   "ibmpmsvc.exe the exception privileged instruction (0xc0000096) occurred in the application at location 0x0012e78d click on ok to terminate the program click on cancel to debug the program".
   What does this message mean and how can it be fixed?

   I suspect that you have an IBM laptop. If you don't then this might be malware.
   

   It is located in the folder C:\Windows\System32. Known file sizes on Windows XP are 57344 bytes (96% of all occurrence), 53248 bytes, 73782 bytes, 49152 bytes.
