    fyi StartupCPL does not install on my XP Pro.

    It should do as it was compatible with XP, try the standalone version HERE

    also from Mike Lins webpage is that in XP the installer version you need to

    I have it on a flash drive and I can run it on any computer I plug in to.
    Nifty little program, easiest way to speed up a machine.

    Thanks for the links but I've tried all the download sites in the last hour, unzipped and launched the installation file, startupcpl.exe, and gotten the "ERROR Installation failed." popup dialogue box. :(

    Hey, that Halo link works...a zipped .exe file instead of the zipped install file.
    Interesting...I'll be playing around with it.
