static ip lease time

is there a lease time on computers whom's IP address are statically assigned. i just want to check and make sure because i don't quite remember where i was looking but i thought they were set to expire like every 8 days and just refresh them selves is someone would let me know that would be excellent

There isnt a lease time on static ips since nothing is actually being given by any service.

 

i am having a problem with a wireless computer that i set the ip to be statically assigned and it seems like every 8 days i've been keeping a log on it and it keeps disconnecting briefly after the 8th day of being up that's why i wanted to know if there was like a lease to just clear the cache out or anything

 

Weird. Have you tried setting it to auto obtain to see if it fixes anything?

 

no if i do auto obtain anything it does expire every 8 days that's what i was trying to get away from to begin with but it doesn't seem to help any that i statically assigned it

 

did you make the reservation in your dhcp scope?

 

yes, i reserved 35 ip's for 15 computers to make sure that i wouldn't miss one
