Stay away from me. I think I have the flu.

My eyes are dry and swollen; I ache all over; I'm tired but can't sleep; I'm kind of dizzy; when I look in a direction too fast my eyes hurt; I feel like I'm hungover but I don't drink.

My cat knows I'm sick. He's been with me all night. He won't leave me alone. Whenever I get up and go into a different room he follows me.

Stay away! I might be contagious!

Cats always seem to know when your sick.

 

Go to the store and pick up a bottle of L-Lysine 500mg and take it once a day, every day. It helps prevent the propagation of the flu virus by robbing it of energy provided by the molecularly similar arganine. NO Chocolate, no peanuts (specially almonds) until you get better.

Trust me, it works in prevention and reduction. I haven't had the flu shot in 11 years. Any bouts with the flu that I get are short lived 2-3 days tops.

*shivers* I think I might be coming down with somthing too. Perhaps not flu, but who knows.

I've been drinking glass after glass of water all day, seens to be helping somehow. At first I thought I might have tonsilitis, but my tonsils arn't especially swolen. Nurophen (ibuprofen) seems to be stopping me from getting a fever, but the headache is still pretty nasty.

And dammit, why does this always happen on a stinking FRIDAY???

 

Is it flu season already? *sigh* Hope you get better quickly. I know I won't.

The cat thinks there is a possibility you might be dying. It wants to be there in case something else tries to eat you first.

 

Yeah the flu has hit Florida already. Not sure if they still sell it but Mediflu works like a charm! Drink lots of fluids! Many people get sicker because of dehydration.***Give your cat a special treat for being so loyal Our cat instinctively knows when someone is sick. What really amazed me, was one night, I awoke with a horrible leg crap. It was so painful I couldn't even let out a scream. Within seconds, she was on my bed meowing. I love my cat! LOL

 

It's too early in the season to be the flu. Likely a nasty virus. Please use gloves on the keyboard while surfing and hanging out here; there are already enough computer viruses going around.

The very first time I had the flu was two years ago when I got my very first flu shot. Coinsidence? No. You can get the flu from a flu shot. I hate when people say you can't! The flu shot is a dead strain of the flu virus. If the flu in the flu shot is not totaly dead then you get sick. Bah!

I think I got it this year cause' I had the Lymphnodes in the left side of my neck removed last year cause' I had cancer.

I think Lymphnodes fight off disease. Not sure though. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. I think that since I'm missing some I might be more likely to get sick.

I'm still sick, but I'm getting better. Thanks for the responses everybody.

I keep having insanely vivid dreams and I know it's because of the flu.

 

It is, but (1) flu season is JUST getting started. Possible, but not likely you've caught it already. And (2) any bad cold during flu season gets blamed on the flu, when most are not. Unless you're miserable for from 1 to 2 solid weeks, it wasn't the flu.

What's your temperature been running? That might explain the wild dreams.

Ummm.... "Strep Throat" sounds a lot like Tonsilitis.....

 

I've got a temperature of 39.5C. Thats .5C higher than that of a cat. So if I put my head on my cat, he feels cold! Cool!

From the sounds of the link you posted on the flu, G.T., I guess I just have a virus or something.

My symptoms:
Sweating, feeling hot (not the usual way I feel hot )
Head hurt
My eyes were dry and it hurt to look in different directions when looking too fast.
No enegry
Kind of dizzy
No apetite
It felt as though I was constantly hung over and dehydrated
The pupils in my eyes would stay very small. Don't know what that's about.

I'm almost back to normal now.

My cat stopped hanging around me when yestarday he got into a fight with another cat and cut his head pretty bad. He's got his own problems now.

 

I'm staying away. Sounds to me like you are already dead and just don't know it. If you were on the Munsters show, they would think you are normal. Just kidding. get better soon.

Sorry to hear that, Goldfish. I hope you get better soon. Lots of sleep and liquids helped me out. Oh... and posting on Major Geeks, too.

 

Yeah I've got thru about 5l so far today and it's 4pm.

And needless to say, a good bit of posting helps too I also got some design done, which was cool, learnt a bit about the software we use and how to make "cosmetic screw threads"... which saves a lot of effort on my part!

I take a combination of L-Lysine; L-Glutamine; Creatine Monohydrate; Citric Acid; Dextrose; Taurine; Calcium Carbonate; Magnesium Chelate; Citric Acid Acid; Potassium Chloride - all in one formula I've developed for building up the immune system; body strength in general, and the added advantage of burning off excess fat.

You can get the 'Flu' (An Influenza type virus) any time of year, including mid-summer.

If I were to go out and buy all that stuff (less the acid acid), it would cost me over £100. Whoa.

Nah, that's what I'm there for. I buy the Pharmaceutical grade ingredients in bulk and make the finished products. One kilo of the end mix is about twenty five quid, and lasts a few months, depending on how much is used. Better than paying about forty bux for a bottle of 30 pills that doesn’t do the job.
