My computer is in bad shape, thanks to some (a lot) of unauthorized browsing. I'm attempting to clean it up. I need to enable viewing of hidden folders, but can't.

Under the Tools menu, I have Map Network Drive, Disconnect Network Drive, and Synchronize. No Folder Options. Is there another way to access the options? Any ideas about why it is not showing up?

Go into Control Panel and select folder options and then navigate to the View Tab.

You're quick! Control Panel: Folder Options - should folder options be an icon in the control panel? Along with fonts, display, etc? I'm not seeing it there either.

Yes, there should be an icon for folder options.

If you still cant get it to come up, try the below...

Click start > run > type in control folders

Nothing runs when I type control folders and click OK.

    • On the Start menu:
    • Point to Settings.
    • Click Control Panel.
    • In Control Panel:
    • Click the Folder icon.
    • Note If all of the Control Panel icons are not displayed, click view all Control Panel options.
    • In the Folder Properties dialog box, select the appropriate tab:
    • To make changes to the Active Desktop, Web and folder views, the number of clicks to open items, and more, select the General tab.
    • To change folder views and select advanced files and folders settings, select the View tab.

    Viewing all...still not there.

Could a spy program installed on a computer suppress the folder options?
